6 Days Chimps & Gorilla Trekking Safari

The 6 Days Rwanda Primate Tour Covers Two National parks, Nyungwe and Volcanoes National Park. In the first place, the Visitor will enjoy the Chimpanzee tracking, canopy walk then Continue to enjoy the Gorilla tracking and visiting the Twin Lakes of Rubondo and Burera.

First day: Pickup from the airport

Second day: Chimpanzee trekking & Canopy Walk

Third day: Natural Walk in Nyungwe then transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Fourth day: Mountain gorilla trekking & twin lake

Fifth day: Hiking Mount Bisoke

Sixth day: Return to kigali

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe forest.

Meet a company representative at the airport or your hotel in Kigali and drive to southwest to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Nyungwe Forest National Park is located south of Lake Kivu on the border with Burundi. Along the way, you may make stops at places of interest including local markets, the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza. Dinner and Overnight at Nyungwe Top view hotel. or Chimpanzee lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking—Canopy Walk.

Very early in the morning after breakfast you will go for chimpanzee tracking. You may spot other primates such as the Lhotse’s monkey and the grey-cheeked Mangabey are often sighted. The birds are spectacular, though as in most tropical forests, on the way you may also spot birds. Enjoy the chimpanzees in their natural environment. Return for Lunch and then go for canopy walk in the forest. You will view most of the attractions up the canopies, like birds, Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top view hotel or chimpanzee lodge.

Day 3: Nature walks in Nyungwe – Drive to Volcanoes national park

In the morning after breakfast,you will do nature walk and drive to volcanoes NP the home of gorillas. If time allows visit the Ibyi’wacyu cultural center and enjoy the unique Kinyarwanda cultural dance. Dinner and overnight at Ingagi view lodge or classic resort lodge

Day 4: Rwanda Mountain Gorilla trecking-Visit the Twin Lakes of Bulera and Rubondo.

After breakfast you will transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Parc National des Vulcans. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills can be tough, arduous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest depending on the kind of gorilla family.


After finding the gorillas, enjoy them for 1 hour taking snaps and videos. The experience is a lifetime and worth it. Return back to your lodge for Lunch and proceed and Visit the Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera. Dinner and overnight at Ingagi View lodge or classic resort lodge

Day 5: Hiking Bisoke

Hiking mount Bisoke is an adventurous activity which takes you 6 hours or more depending on the fitness of the group. After hiking Dinner and overnight at Ingagi view lodge or classic resort lodge.

Day 6: Departure to Kigali

After breakfast, you will leave for Kigali. Time permitting; you will go for a tour of the city where you will visit the Gisozi genocide memorials, local markets and craft shops. After drive to the airport for your flight back home.
